Traditionally, senior photos are done in the summer and fall going into your senior year. For Adora, she decided to get photos done in the snow in the winter. We met in the middle of where we both live, leading us to the Lake Winnisquam Scenic Trail in Belmont, New Hampshire.

The day after a snowstorm, the snow was still fresh, powdery, and covering the trees in a way that only happens immediately after snowfall. We started her session by the lake before moving to the rail trail.

After taking some photos on the rail trail and in the woods along it, she changed into her second outfit, a simple black shirt to stand out against the snow. We headed further up the road to the Scenic Trail entrance, where the quiet of the snow overtook the trial, and the woods felt straight out of a fantasy book.

Walking along the trail, I had one thing in mind that I needed to make this shoot complete: a drooping pine tree. In the woods, I found just the one. Covered in so much snow its branches were touching the ground, we headed straight under it. Warning her that some snow would fall on her, I promised the photos would be worth it... and they were... but the snow dumped on ME specifically, covering me and my camera, and it made for the best photos of the day:
